Comm 203 megaupload thing -late-
I've never been a big fan of downloading movies. I love to watch illegally streaming shows and movies however. With movies i really don't see how illegal downloads could possibly help the film industry what so ever. With shows I find this to be a slightly different case, if there is a show i hear about that i want to watch i might go and find the streaming of all the previous shows, however if im flicking through the t.v. and that show is on im going be more inclined to watch it due to the exposure i've already gotten from the it online. If it is a HBO or Stars show i usually will just find it online. With all this being said i still thoroughly enjoy have a DVD in my hand just so i can take it from place to place which it where there is a dvd player and is then something i can own or even collect.
Comm 203 videogames and layoffs -this is also late-
People being laid off and unemployed is usually a very tragic thing, even more so when these people help produce something im very fond of, in this case video games. With that being said combine the current economic state with a highly invested and popular entertainment market and it really isn't that surprising. While losing a job is terrible if they are talented and skilled at their work the videogame market seems continue to thrive and that i would imagine that finding another job in the same market couldn't be too hard.
Comm 203, Argo blog post -this is late btw-
The story line behind Argo seems pretty awesome. The CIA creating a movie in order to sneak out american hostages is bad ass. In my opinion the relationship between the government and Hollywood is pretty unique. The usage of Hollywood starts giving out PSA is something i find to be a very good heartede and smart maneuver As long as they don't have Charlie Sheen telling people to stay off drugs. The idea of using actual military members as extras as forms of recruiting seem to be failures more than usual, Act of Valor used real life military personal as the main actors, but because their soliders and not actors the action in the movie was cool but the movie itself was bad so i would say that it was unsuccessful. Battleship is another example of this except the main actors where not military but that many of the extra's were, this was also a fluke of a movie.

Comm 203 wikileaks
Information is a dangerous thing. Common media usually covers various political scandles but when whole Governments and Nations mess up, they usually have the resources to make sure they are properly covered up. With the creation of Wikileaks as well as various Hacktavist groups such as Anonymous many of these scandals and information is being exposed out in the open. I find Wikileaks and these groups working towards the goal of real truth and almost as forms of modern day robin hood's. With that being said with great power comes great responsibility these groups and wikileaks are giving out information that seems to be true and very raw, however they also have the capability of slanting a story, much like major new networks, but also the ability to create something completely untrue. And since these issues face extremely controversial information that deals with nations and large groups and corporations the effects of this information could cause wars, riots so on and so forth. As for the Wikileaks founder being chaged with sex offenses i do believe that the federal government is pulling maneuvers to make him also answer for Wikileaks and such.
Comm 203 book cover
Are book covers relevant anymore? with the use of Nooks and tables regular books are increasingly becoming less popular. This creates an interesting argument for the artist's who create book covers. In all the books that i've read there have been some covers which are more appealing then others but this has never really affected my selection reading. "Never judge a book by its cover" makes sense to me in the literal wording of the phrase. I usually make my book descions based on research or recomandations of friends, I do usually pay much closer to the title as well as the back cover of the book which will occasionally contain an excerpt or other information regarding the book.
side note: i thought i had published this when i first wrote and i guess i had forgotten to do so

COMM 203 Videogames are amazing
I believe it is safe to say that video games are no longer considered just toys, but are for there own example there own form or Media and entertainment. A good example of this is to examine the monstrosity that is World of Warcraft. If WOW was just a child's toy there would not be rehab centers for WOW addiction, there wouldn't be online trading of WOW objects and weapons for real world currency. Another example of video games being far more than toys is there usage in today's popular culture. For instance I'm totally PWN-ing this blogger question right now. The development of movies based on video games is also a somewhat current popular phenomenon such as The Resident Evil and Tomb Raider series.
